Welcome to the new home of the UoB PGR Development blog. We’ve been sharing and discussing postgraduate researcher development over at https://uobpgrdevelopment.wordpress.com/ for over 9 years, and just before we reach our tenth birthday it is time for a new location, look and feel. We’re really excited to share this new phase of our own development with you!
There’s one other major change behind the scenes: the blog will be brought to you as a collaboration between the Research Skills Team in Libraries and Learning Resources and the University Doctoral School. We’re really pleased to be working together to continue to bring you informative and helpful posts, while also making the blog more resilient.
The good news is that the underlying vision behind the blog will remain the same. We will post here regularly on topics relevant to the personal and professional development of postgraduate researchers at the University of Birmingham; we’re keen for many of our posts to be written by postgraduate researchers themselves; we’ll cover themes across the whole of the Vitae Researcher Development Framework (more on which, next week); and most of the posts will be short and easy-to-digest, with an occasional in-depth post to explore a topic in more detail.
If you’re already a regular reader, subscribe now to make sure you continue to receive new posts to your inbox – we’re really pleased to have you still along with us. If you’re brand new to our blog, a very warm welcome! Feel free to explore our archive in our old home, where you’ll find reflections and ideas on developing your communication skills, academic writing, productivity, wellbeing, and many more.
Let us know in the comments what you think of our new home and if there’s anything you’d like to see from the blog as we settle in!
